Roni 's Story
I went to Fontana High in part of '70 -I made some really good friend there - my last name was Weaver when in Fontana, My parents messed with me alot about my name... Liston in Rialto, Weaver in Fontana...after I married Jack Bell in '72 I vowed to never change my last name again!! We went to Germany, I had a son (Shaun) in '74. We went back to Rialto after that for a while. Then I had my daughter (Randi) in '81. Left Rialto in 83'- I lived in Bisbee,AZ for a little while. My older sister, Sandy, lived there. That was a great place and interesting still. However, I went to the Puget Sound area in WA for a few months- didn't care for that much,(should have stayed in Bisbee! where I had 10 fenced-in acres on Border Rd -for $150 a mo!) but it was really pretty and my house was on a hill right by a lake. Too gloomy, rainy and snowy for me. Back to Rialto, then escaped from the smog and other adverse conditions for child-rearing, to Anderson (near Redding, CA) just about 3 hrs north of Sac. A smallish country place - I Stayed there for over 20 years. Did a lot of gardening there. Had a great house on about 3 acres, primo soil....free and clear. Had a goat, some chickens, dogs, cats. Some lambs and cows grazed in my pasture. Lots of womderful wildlif...Expand for more
e- deer lived in my backyard happily...many, many birds. My house was just about a quarter of a mile from the Sacramento River. I went to Shasta College and got a degree in Natural Resources, and some Horticulture. Sold that house (big mistake) and moved to Mckinleyville (Humboldt Co) -to be near my grandson... first time I've lived in the'burbs in a long, long, time. It kinda sux. The beaches and redwoods are gorgeous, but I hate the weather and other things- I think I'm going to San Diego Co. soon. (where I was born) near my mother. So that's about it for now. Had a crazy 6.5 earthquake yesterday (jan 9,2010) and tomorrow's my 56th birthday. Once again- I am currently visiting my mom in Coronado (since early Mar)...and we felt the effects of the 7.2 earthquake (in Baja) in a major way on Easter Sunday. They are following me!!haha... we've felt the smaller "aftershocks" almost everyday since then!! (I'm writing this April 15). The weather is almost always perfect here on this Island. People here call it "Paradise" I'm tempted to stay, since my daughter and son-in-law and grandson are taking care of my house (I hope! haha)...but I have to go back sometime and sell that house soon.. That's it for now, maybe too much!! Have I crossed the line??
